From great new features to helping maintain tradition through sponsorships, it’s been a fantastic 2024. Let’s take a look at what made it significant for us.
Features That Make Remote Access Easier
As you can find out from our release notes, 2024 was full of great improvements to our remote access solution. These were all done with a view to providing you with an easy to use, yet secure, remote access solution.
Among the great new features released this year in RealVNC Connect this year were:
- Presence – See if a Device Is Online or Offline
- Enhanced Multi-Monitor Support
- File Manager – a Remastered File Transfer Experience, discussed on the blog here
- Launch Connections from the Portal
- Audit – Track key activity across your RealVNC Team
These were part of the RealVNC Connect 7 release. You can find out much more about it in our dedicated webinar.
While we can’t really divulge anything yet, we can promise you a very exciting 2025 on this front.
A New Security Standard
And speaking of security, you know that we at RealVNC like to put our money where our mouth is when it comes to it. We don’t just claim that we’re secure; we can prove it.
Therefore, we’re very proud that this year we achiveved ISO27001 certification. This comes to reaffirm our commitment to the highest standards of data protection.
This is not just a badge. As you can find out in our blog article, ISO27001 certification is proof of our robust security framework. We’ve built it so we can protect your data while providing you with great remote access functionality.
Supporting Excellence in Sports
We also had the privilege to support the Cambridge University AFC (CUAFC) teams in their traditional 150th Varsity football match against Oxford. This gave us a chance to watch some great performances on the pitch, including a resounding win for the women, as well as an exciting penalty shootout four the men’s.

Solving Our Users’ Problems
After all, our remote access solutions are designed to help solve users’ issues. Or, in a lot of cases, to help them, in turn, fix their customers’ issues.
As always, we came across some very interesting use cases this year. Here are some of them.
Innovative Uses for Our Android Solution
We were surprised to find out the creative ways in which customers use our Android solution to overcome various challenges. From supporting Android devices in manufacturing plants, to troubleshooting fast-food drive-in orders remotely, these diverse use cases amazed us.
BIOTRONIK – Increased Efficiency and Customer Support
BIOTRONIK partnered with RealVNC to create an integrated, customizable solution for their latest programming device, the Renamic Neo. This innovative device allows clinics to efficiently implant, program and support thousands of pacemakers and ICDs.
By collaborating with RealVNC, BIOTRONIK now offers direct support to their customers in follow-up and implant rooms: the remote service LiveSupport. Find out more in our BIOTRONIK case study.
REJI – Monitoring Customer Kiosk and POS Software
REJI uses RealVNC Connect to proactively monitor hundreds of customer kiosks across diverse operating systems.
This significantly improved their operations and ensured exceptional reliability for the quick-service restaurant industry.
