What does VNC® 5.x consist of?
VNC® 5.x consists of a VNC® Server app for the computer you want to control, a VNC® Viewer app for the computer or mobile device you want to connect from, and supporting programs.
How do I install it?
The easiest thing to do is to run the installer and follow the instructions.
Can I upgrade from an older version of VNC®?
Yes. This should be seamless if you're upgrading from an earlier version of VNC® 5.x. There's no need to stop VNC® Server, and you'll be prompted if you need a new license key. If you're upgrading from VNC® 4.x, please read the upgrade guide first.
Do I need to apply a license key?
You must either license VNC® Server using a VNC® 5.x Enterprise, Personal or Free key you already possess, or else purchase a new Enterprise subscription for VNC® Connect 6+ (though note you won't be able to install VNC® Connect on this platform).

Note you must possess a 25 character license key to install VNC® 5.x. Please check the Computers page of your RealVNC® account, or the last purchase email you received from RealVNC®. To obtain a new license key for VNC® 5.x, you must purchase a VNC® Connect subscription.
