VNC Viewer 1.1 is a best-in-class solution for the remote control of a computer from your iPhone or iPod touch.
If you haven't done so already, you can download it from the iTunes App Store.
Getting connected
The Getting Connected Guide explains in more detail the essential steps you need to perform in order to connect to a computer for the first time:
- Get VNC-compatible Server technology installed and running on the computer, or enable Screen Sharing or Remote Management built-in to Mac OS X 10.4+.
- If you are connecting over the Internet (for example, via 3G), configure firewalls and routers protecting the computer to allow and forward network communications. Further reading: Knowledge Base article.
- Uniquely identify the computer and use this information to connect.
Using VNC Viewer
Once connected, the User Guide explains how to use VNC Viewer to control a computer. This guide is also available on-board.
