The Confidence Paradox: 76% of manufacturing IT professionals are highly confident in their current security, the second-highest rate of any industry, yet 53% experienced a remote access incident in the last 24 months, and 62% of that confident group were among them.
Infrastructure Is the Sacrifice: Platform upgrades are the most deprioritised task in manufacturing at 56%, the highest of any sector. It's the only industry where infrastructure modernisation loses out to security hardening as the thing that gets cut first.
Zero Trust Ambition Outpaces Delivery: 74% of manufacturing respondents rank Zero Trust as a top priority, the strongest commitment outside MSP/IT Services. Only 29% have actually implemented it.
Foundational Controls Lag Behind: Encryption at rest sits at just 29% in manufacturing, the lowest of any industry, with session recording at 26% and audit logging at 38%.
Budget and People Are the Real Blockers: Budget (50%) and a lack of skilled personnel (44%) are the two biggest obstacles manufacturing teams report, ahead of every other constraint.
