RealVNC® is the remote access platform for engineers looking for the most reliable and the most secure solution built by the creators of VNC® technology. Over the last 25 years, as the inventors of VNC®, we’ve enabled a global workforce to work wherever works and created the remote access market. Our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide including IT professionals from global companies, such as Intel, IBM, NASA, Shell, DreamWorks and Philips.
Our lead product, VNC Connect, allows users to connect securely to a remote device anywhere in the world, see its screen in real-time, and take control as though sitting in front of it. The product has been deployed across a myriad of use cases, from remote support through to deploying the software onto connected devices such as medical ventilators, set-top boxes, heavy industrial machinery and more.

Michael Henssler Chief Executive Officer
Michael has over 25 years of experience in enterprise SaaS, fintech, and trading technology. His leadership roles in sales, engineering, product management, and general management give him a comprehensive business perspective.
Michael has a strong record of developing high-performing teams and creating the conditions for people to succeed.
Michael also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of SmartTrade Technologies, a private equity-backed leader in multi-asset electronic trading and payment platforms. During his tenure, he doubled revenue, more than doubled EBITDA, built a “Rule of 60” business, and successfully transformed both the go-to-market and product organizations.
Prior to SmartTrade, Michael spent more than a decade at Finastra, where he rose to General Manager and Chief Product Officer for Treasury, Capital Markets, and Risk. There, he spearheaded the transition to cloud delivery and helped redefine the business’s product strategy. He also played a key role in M&A, including the acquisition and integration of Olfa Trade, while reshaping the go-to-market strategy to expand reach through indirect sales and partnerships.

Gavin Lyons Chair of the board
Gavin is an experienced executive with over 25 years in the software and technology-enabled services sector. He specialises in working with private equity-backed businesses, helping leadership teams set strategy, accelerate growth and deliver value creation.
He began his leadership journey with the Caudwell Group in 2002, the telecoms business founded by John Caudwell, where he gained early experience in scaling and commercial leadership. After completing an MBA at Henley Business School, where he specialised in leadership in venture capital and private equity-backed businesses, Gavin joined Identum, an early-stage cybersecurity business, to drive product and growth. He played a key role in delivering its sale to Trend Micro, one of the world’s largest cybersecurity companies, where he went on to hold senior roles before moving to SAP, the global enterprise software leader.
He later became CEO of AIM-listed cybersecurity business Accumuli, which was sold to NCC Group in 2015. He then served as an operating partner with MXC Capital, a technology merchant bank and the original cornerstone investor in Accumuli.
In 2016, Gavin co-founded Tax Systems, transforming it into a leading provider of corporation tax software. He led the company’s IPO on AIM, completed a public-to-private transaction with Bowmark Capital in 2019, and successfully transitioned leadership through a CEO succession plan before moving into a NED role in 2022. He then helped deliver a further exit to Providence in 2025, achieving two successful realisations for shareholders.
Since 2022, Gavin has built a plural chair career, partnering with multiple private equity investors to support portfolio companies through scaling and exit. Across his career, he has overseen six successful shareholder exits and continues to focus on supporting ambitious management teams to build high-performing organisations.

Neil Gad Chief Product & Technology Officer
Neil has 20 years’ experience as a technology and commercial leader, and was appointed to the role of Chief Product & Technology Officer to define and deliver RealVNC’s product vision. He has a background in strategy consulting at Boston Consulting Group and PwC, where he led value creation programmes and supported M&A deals for PE clients, focused on TMT and industrial goods sectors. He subsequently joined SSP Group, a FTSE250 food & beverage business, as a Strategy Director, where he led a global software delivery team to optimise OpEx and improve customer experience, later moving into a Commercial Director role. Stuart brings over 25 years of experience building and scaling commercial teams in B2B technology, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth inside PE-backed SaaS businesses. He joined RealVNC in 2023 to lead the full revenue function, spanning new business, customer success, and expansion.
Prior to RealVNC, Stuart served as Chief Revenue Officer at Mention Me and before that held senior commercial leadership roles at Thunderhead, rising to Executive Vice President for EMEA & APAC. Earlier in his career he spent he spent time in executive sales at Adobe, Progress Software and ALLNET. Stuart holds a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth. Nick brings 18 years of financial expertise with a proven track record in high-growth, PE-backed environments across the digital, media and technology sectors. Prior to RealVNC, Nick served as CFO of Stats Perform, a global leader in sports AI technology and data, which is owned by Vista Equity Partners. During his time at Stats Perform, Nick played a key role in the carve-out of Perform from the DAZN Group, leading to the acquisition by Vista and the merger with Stats LLC. In his early professional career, Nick qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, before spending time in commercial finance roles at the advertising agency, BBDO (part of the Omnicom Group).
