Integration Test Engineer
We’re looking for a talented software engineer to test our cloud-based services.
RealVNC® is a highly successful software company based in Cambridge (UK) city centre. As the original developers of VNC® remote access technology our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide from the non-technical home user to IT professionals from global companies, such as Intel, IBM, NASA, Shell, DreamWorks and Philips.
Our products allow people to remotely access computers simply and securely, and are supported by a variety of third-party business applications. These applications interact with RealVNC’s entire product line, from our flagship VNC Connect to our SDKs, and are critical for day-to-day business operations. We’re looking for an experienced software test engineer who can navigate the interactions between all of these applications and help keep them running smoothly through regular updates as we develop and expand our product line.
You'll be involved in all aspects of testing from sprint planning to regression testing, and you'll be given the freedom to use whatever mix of manual and automated tests you feel is most appropriate. You will develop and maintain any test frameworks or mock services which are needed.
We think we have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We value the input of everyone collaborating on the project, and a talented tester can make a big difference. In exchange we expect you to be highly motivated, willing to explore novel solutions, and able to make a significant contribution to our products.
- are passionate about testing and the role it plays in producing great software
- are not afraid to speak up and make your concerns and feelings heard
- have experience testing integrations with third-party applications (e.g. Salesforce, payment service providers, marketing automation tools)
- have an understanding of how software systems interact and where problems can arise
- are comfortable writing automated tests in Python, Java or a similar language
- are experienced with manual testing techniques, including exploratory testing
- have a passion for technology and the ability to pick things up quickly
- are able to communicate technical ideas clearly, with excellent written and spoken English
This role offers a unique opportunity to join our Engineering team working for a stable and successful Cambridge-based company with a recognised global brand and huge potential and vision. If you’re successful, you’ll be compensated with an attractive package which will be appropriate to your skills and experience. We also offer generous benefits, including a contributory pension, childcare vouchers, and private dental and medical care.
This is a full-time post, but we believe in a healthy work/life balance, so it’s 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday); we also promote flexi-time, with agreed core hours.
