This is the final article in our series dedicated to the ways in which secure remote access can help the retail sector. Throughout it, we looked at a number of interesting use cases and scenarios from our customers. It\u2019s time to draw some important conclusions.<\/p>

From supporting over 1200 local florists to managing more than 3500 remote devices, we looked at them all. And that included supporting the gradual transition to new payment systems, while still supporting the old ones until they are completely phased out. Throughout these use cases, RealVNC software helps retail organizations like yours overcome their daily challenges.<\/p>

Below we consolidate some of the knowledge in this series of articles.<\/p>

1. Seamless Support for Dispersed Retail Networks<\/h2>

It\u2019s rare that a retail company operates under a single roof. Locations might be spread across cities, countries, and sometimes over several continents. This brings with it a series of complex operational demands.<\/p>

Our customer Interflora coordinates over 1200 florists across Australia<\/a>, and uses our software to solve IT issues instantly and remotely, without needing long conversations over the phone. We discussed this fantastic use case, as well as how another customer, a prominent building supply retailer, uses the software for seamless support in the field, in another article of this series<\/a>.<\/p>

2. Diverse and Evolving Retail Needs<\/h2>

In that same article, you will find out how a major US-based grocery and general merchandise retailer uses RealVNC Connect for maintaining and upgrading POS systems that have been in operation for 30 years. These are old Windows-based devices, which are still in operation while they transition to new Linux ones. The software\u2019s multiplatform capabilities allow the technicians to work with different operating system without a need for other solutions over this 2-3 year project.<\/p>

As teams get smaller and workloads increase, the right tools are what IT professionals need in order to keep on top of things. These allow them to simplify complex tasks, while maximizing available resources. All this, to tackle the unique challenges that retail faces.<\/p>

As we discussed in this article<\/a>, a major American sporting goods retailer came to us with a need to support\u00a0430 stores\u00a0and nearly\u00a0500 corporate users. They now use the software to support POS devices and laptops \u2013 all Windows devices, with group policies in place.<\/p>
