RealVNC Connect works the same way regardless of which platform is on each end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-you-ll-need\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you&#8217;ll need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Mac running macOS, either on the same network as your Raspberry Pi or reachable over the internet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Raspberry Pi running Raspberry Pi OS to connect from<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A RealVNC Connect account and licence &#8211; a <a href=\"https:\/\/manage.realvnc.com\/en\/auth\/sign_up\">free trial<\/a> is available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About 10 minutes to complete setup on both devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-step-1-set-up-realvnc-server-on-your-mac\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Set up RealVNC Server on your Mac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the Mac you want to control:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realvnc.com\/en\/connect\/download\/\">RealVNC Connect setup app<\/a> from the RealVNC website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Download for macOS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Accept and Install, and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once installation completes, choose Start my free trial if you&#8217;re new to RealVNC Connect, or Sign in to continue if you already have an account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your browser will open automatically. Follow the on-screen prompts, then click Allow to return to the RealVNC Connect Setup app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the settings shown, then click Launch. Compare these against the values shown in RealVNC Server on the remote computer to confirm you&#8217;re connecting to the right machine. To let other users in, add them via <a href=\"https:\/\/help.realvnc.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360002253618\">Managing users and session permissions for RealVNC Server<\/a> on the Mac &#8211; otherwise they won&#8217;t be able to authenticate, even with valid macOS credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-troubleshooting-common-issues\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Troubleshooting common issues<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Blank screen or view-only access: check that Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions are enabled for vncagent in System Settings &gt; Privacy &amp; Security on the Mac.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can&#8217;t authenticate: make sure you&#8217;re using the password noted at setup, or the correct macOS account credentials if you selected Mac Password authentication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mac doesn&#8217;t appear in RealVNC Viewer: confirm both devices are signed in to the same RealVNC Connect account and team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-keeping-your-connection-secure\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Keeping your connection secure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RealVNC Connect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realvnc.com\/en\/connect\/security\/\">encrypts cloud connections end-to-end<\/a>, and every new connection is verified using the Identity Check described above.
