How does VNC technology work?ΒΆ

VNC uses the RFB protocol to transmit screen pixel data from one computer to another over a network, and send control events in return. It’s a simple but powerful protocol invented by RealVNC.

You download VNC Connect, consisting of a VNC Server app and supporting programs, to the computer you want to control, and install and license it. You are then free to download VNC Viewer to as many other computers or devices you want to control from as you like.

VNC Server captures the desktop of the computer in real-time and sends it to VNC Viewer for display. VNC Viewer gathers your input (mouse, keyboard, or touch) and sends it for VNC Server to inject and actually achieve remote control. Learn how to get connected.
