How many licenses do I require?
VNC Personal Edition for Windows is composed of two parts, being the VNC Viewer and VNC Server. The VNC Server component is installed on each host computer whose desktop is to be remotely accessed, and the VNC Viewer is then run by each user who must access those desktops.
Licensing for VNC Personal Edition for Windows is based on the number of copies of VNC Server that are to be used, i.e. the number of host desktops that are to be accessed remotely by users running VNC Viewer. Any number of VNC Viewers may remotely access a single VNC Server for personal or internal business use, under a single VNC Personal Edition for Windows license. The number of licenses required depends solely on the number of VNC Server installations.
How many license keys do I require?
Each VNC Personal Edition for Windows license key entitles the holder to install VNC Server Personal Edition on a specified number of host computers. If more VNC Server installations are required than are permitted with a particular license key, then supplemental license keys must be purchased.
How long is my license valid for?
Each VNC Personal Edition for Windows license is perpetual, meaning that it can continue to be used with the original software for as long as is required.
How long is my basic support agreement valid for?
The basic support agreement, including free upgrades as they become available, runs for a period of 12 months from the date of issue of the accompanying license key. Upgrades released after this 12 month period has elapsed will not be available unless the basic support agreement has been renewed and a replacement license key issued.
How do I get a 30-day trial license?

First, make sure you have downloaded the software.
During installation, VNC Personal Edition for Windows will prompt for a valid license key to be supplied. As well as accepting a full license key, VNC Personal Edition can also enable a temporary 30-day trial license, if it has not previously been used on the host computer.
If neither a full nor a trial license key was provided during installation then a trial key can be installed by selecting Set License Key from the VNC Server (Service-Mode) section of the Start Menu, which will usually be located under the RealVNC group, unless a different group was specified during installation.
How do I install a new license key?
During installation, VNC Personal Edition for Windows will prompt for a valid license key to be supplied, if a valid key is not already present on the host computer.
A license key must be installed on each computer that is to run a Personal Edition VNC Server; you do not need to install a license key on a computer that will only run VNC Viewer. A new license key can be installed even when the existing key is valid, for instance when replacing a 30-day trial license with a full license, by selecting Set License Key from the VNC Server (Service-Mode) section of the Start Menu, which will usually be located under the RealVNC group, unless a different group was specified during installation.
The newly installed license key will take effect immediately, for all new connections to the VNC Server.
