Manually installing VNC® Enterprise Edition for UNIX
Unpackaged Options
In addition to the packaged options for most platforms we also supply binaries and, where appropriate installation scripts, in a tarball (.tar.gz) format.Installing from tarball
To install these, untar the files into a
temporary directory and run the included vncinstall
script. This will install VNC programs and manual pages into the
default directory, and configure additional system files.
You can also specify where vncinstall installs
programs, manual pages and the vnc.so
module as command-line parameters as follows:
vncinstall program-dir man-dir module-dir |
These parameters are all optional, but must be specified in this
order. In other words, if you want to specify where
vncinstall copies the vnc.so module, you
must also specify where it copies the programs and manual pages.
Once vncinstall has successfully completed you can
delete the contents of the downloaded tarball.
