hello,
the size of the image depends on the amount of pixels you are using on the server. so if you attach a 17" crt to your laptop and leave the settings as they are, you are basically sending out a picture with 1024x768 pixels, which will only occupy a smaller part of the image on the 17" students displays, which are probably set to 1280x1024 pixels.
you will have to change the settings on the laptop to 1280x1024 pixels, then the students displays will display the image of your laptop in full size.
if your laptop does not support 1280x1024, you can do the following:
once your students have logged in, they press F8, press "options", go to the "scaling" tab, and choose "scale to window size", and also choose "misc" tab and choose "full-screen mode". you can experiment with these settings. once you have the right setting, you should press F8, press "options", go to the "load/save" tab, and choose "save configuration file as", place this file somewhere on the students computer where it can easily be launched. you will then automatically launch the full window. but the scaling does make the picture appear a bit fuzzy.

Hello,
I installed vnc 4.1 free on a small network of 7 pc just to teach computer basics.
It works correctly and am rather happy because i had not big problems at installation time.
All pc's have win98SE.
The server is an old compaq laptop (14") that is enough for the job it has to do.
The "students" desktop have 17" crt displays.
When they view the desktop of the server the image does not fill the whole 17" display.
I connected a 17" crt display to the laptop but it doesn't change anything.
Is there a way to have the viewer 17" crt display occupy the whole surface of the screen
I tries various things unsuccessfully.
Thank you for the tips
JM
