client screen does not refresh

Hello,



I try vnc with the following :

Desktop as a server and ubuntu 7.04 resolution 1024x768

On a console i typed vncserver and it asked me a password and told the 
name of the server i.e linux:0



As a client an old compaq laptop with windows 98SE and vnc 4.1.2 
resolution 800x600



It seems to work : connection seems ok but, when i change something on 
the server's screen these changes do not appear on the laptop.



Can you help ?
