Different Hosts in different locations, behaving differently...

Wez,

OK... I didn't get the time until now to look into this...

I cut out VNC... I installed Exceed on my PC and exported my display from
the UNIX hosts...

The host on which VNC is working... everything appears to be the same via
Exceed: CDE started, term sessions created, etc...

The host on which VNC does NOT (appear to) work... no desktop... BUT!! a few
'windows' did open: two 'help' tools (one had an error message), the
performance meter (which is the tool I see in the VNC client session!), and
the file manager.

So! This tells me things are not setup the same on these two hosts. But
where do I have the admins start looking?? From the error message in the
one 'help' tool, I would guess not everything for Xwindows is
installed/configured.

>From what I can see, all permissions, all 'files/directories' are the same
on both hosts... so I would guess either something at the OS level or even
something in the Xwindow install/config must be different... But where do I
start looking?

Thanks!
Ray
