Connection errors

To whom it may concern,

  I have installed the application on a Windows XP machine and I'm trying to connect to another machine via ADSL. I keep on getting the same error "connection refused...."
  Upon reading up a bit on the support side of the website, it keeps on reffering to the router not set up for allowing connection on port 5900. Where should we look for this specific setting on our router i.e adsl router?
