Hi James,
Thanks for the response. Correct me if I were wrong, here is what I feel about the possiblities that you have provided;
port forwarding to wrong local IP:
This may not be true since b'coz I see the following message using nettest.cgi
"The IP address requesting this web page is 70.143.85.253 (REMOTE_ADDR)
Connecting to port 5900 ... succeeded."
Wrong IP in VNC viewer:
This may not be applicable b'coz my first test is with nettest.cgi using a web browser and that did not find a server at port 5900.
firewall enabled:
I do not have special firewall on this PC (except the basic windows XP firewall). I all tried it with disabling the windows firewall but no luck :(
Is there any other way I could try to debug this setup.
Appreciate your help.
Thank you.

Senthil,
It sounds like you're set your port forwarding to pass connections on port
5900 to the wrong local IP address (a non-existent one), or that you are
specifying the wrong IP address in VNC Viewer when trying to connect, or
that your server computer has a firewall enabled.
Cheers,
