VNC server stopped working when viewer.exe deleted

Hello,

Excuse my ignorance as I am a Mac man rather than a PC man!

I use VNC to remotely control one of my W2000 webservers. The antivirus
program detected a virus in a file called viewer.exe and after a bit of
research on Google I decided to delete this file.

I can no longer connect to VNC. I have downloaded and reinstalled a fresh
copy of VNC server and still the connection is refused instantly.

Is this because of the missing viewer.exe file? How can I replace it as the
reinstallation of VNC server doesn't seem to have done so.
