How much secure the connection with VNC Free edition using hamachi?

I'am asking this because sometimes ago i was connected from my office to
my father's Pc and while i'm working remotely i saw start the run
command of winXP and on the command line i saw someone else that was
writing a network command that i stopped immediately after not happened
until i was connected.
I use hamachi because betwen the router and my father's pc there is a
private network so the pc has not a public address becaus i'am a newbie
to use vnc and hamachi on the internet i will gratefull to anyone that
will answer me and give me the right way to use these instrument
securely.
