dual-headed monitors and VNC on Windows

I'm actually using Ultr "at" VNC on my PC, so I'm not sure that this problem
applies to RealVNC. Let me know if I should go away (preferrably to an
Ultr "at" VNC list, if there is one), but I have been on this list for more
than 8 years and I like it!
The problem is that when I connect to my dual-headed system, the total
monitor space is about 3360x2100 (two 1680x1050 monitors), but this is
fine most of the time because I am working mostly in the left monitor
space. Sometimes I do something that moves an application window into the
right monitor and this can kill my connection.
I also have the problem that if I leave an application in the right
monitor, I cannot see it when I connect using VNC -- it's just too far
over on the right side. Some applications will launch over on the right
side because that's where I put them the last time I used them. Then they
are not visible in VNC -- what can I do about that?
Sorry if this is a FAQ, or if it doesn't apply to RealVNC.
