Are the connection tab settings in the VNC server configuration menu the same
on both machines?
Also, I can't remember if you have you tried with both firewalls (PC & laptop)
switched off? Once you get it to work then you can switch the firewalls back
on and allow access for the specific application (VNC) from the relevant IP
address.
