Setting up

I have a computer at work running XP Pro and one at home running Win 2k Pro
sp3. They are connected to the internet via a Netgear FVS318 VPN router
which I have turned on & off the VPN tunnel with no change.
 
I have Hamachi working so that I can access the other computer network (it
is quite easy if no one has tried it) but I cannot get RealVNC to work.
Perhaps it is my lack of understanding.
 
Can someone help me set this up?  The biggest question is what do I use for
the VNC server?  Assuming the computer at work is 5.14.C.D (computer id =
Phil) and the computer at home is 5.14.A.B (computer Id = phils-dell) and
further assuming that the display is default at "0", what do I set it to in
the VNC Viewer?
 
It always times out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
