pointer rate-limiting option, which can be set as a default for all
connections, or saved with a .vnc configuration file.

for the colour & encoding options.  In particular, these let you reduce the
colour depth of the connection to reduce the required bandwidth (at the cost
of appearance).  Again, these can be saved to be defaults.
