vnc vs freeNX?

Dear all

Has anyone got any comments to offer on whether (Real)VNC or freeNX is
better for accessing a Linux machine from a Windows computer?  Is freeNX
really faster, as often claimed out there?  Can they be
mixed-and-matched?
