Question on using with Dell switch

I am a new user testing the Server behind a Dell switch in a small office. 
Can you give me direction to setting up access to the server via a such a 
network configeration.  DSL modem directly to a Dell  Net Power Switch 2400 
to VNC server.  I get 10.10.10.100 at the VNC tray.
