full screen exit, personal 4.1.2

The instructions for full screen exit are either too complicated for
my tiny mind, or don't work in Windows XP.

Ctrl-Esc Esc brings up the server's menu and task bar, not the
viewer's. And all keys typed go to the server, not to my computer,
once I go full screen.

I'd love to know if there's actually a way to get out of full screen
mode that works ... thanks!
