Hi Todd,
Sounds like you're running VNC 3 series servers, which are very old, and
have a slightly involved configuration system. VNC Server 4
(http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.2) has much simpler configuration
and better performance, so you may wish to upgrade to that.
You may also be interested in VNC Enterprise Edition
(http://www.realvnc.com/products/enterprise), which can be made to
authenticate users against their native Windows/Active Directory accounts,
and which can be installed and configured with the VNC Deployment Tool.
