listen-mode connections

Hello,
I setup my home PC to listen for my work PC to initiate a connection. On the
VNC server side, I can initiate the connection through the GUI, but when I
try to connect by command line (WinVNC -connect my.home.ip.address::5500) I
get and error- unable to resolve host name. Would anyone know why it works
when I use the menus, but it does not work via command line. Isn't the
-connect command the same as "Add new client" through the GUI? Thanks!
