VNC on Unix w/ Solaris 8

Good Afternoon all,

 

Is someone willing to provide me with an explanation of how to install and set up VNC on a Unix workstation running Solaris 8?  I have tried various versions and such, but have had no luck.  I admit that I have not done much Unix/Linux stuff in a few years, so Im a little rusty, but that should not be a problem.  

 

Specifically, I keep seeing errors like server cannot execute and unexpected ), syntax error on vncpasswd.  Im doing something wrong, but cant seem to figure it out.  Should the programs be put in a specific director?  What about the install program?  That didnt seem to do anything either.
