keyboard/mouse input via network?

Hi, hope you can help me play the classic titles I so love!
I have a PowerBook G4 and while DosBox runs on OSX, it is too slow  
for many games...

I therefore thought I could put my old PC (XP still so not THAT old )  
to use.
I don't feel like attaching a second mouse/keyboard though... also  
the PC is not physically close to the PB.

Now, I would like to use my PB as a kind of remote
Transmitting input via network but not the display signal - is it  
possible?
VNC would do but it wants to transmit the display too...
so I need VNC - Display signal
