http://www.whatismyip.com is your friend. Or you can use one of the dynamic
DNS providers to give her computer a name that is resolveable from the
outside. Something like "mycomputer.example.com" or whatever domain names
are available from your preferred dynamic DNS provider. I currently have an
account with dyndns.com using one of their domains and also have an account
with ZoneEdit.com using my own domain name.

Subject: Internal IP Showing up, help!
Hi guys,
Im trying to have VNC setup on a friends computer who
uses qwest (with static ip) on the actiontec gt-701
modem.
I opened the dmz host and port fowarded 5900 for the
internal ip of 192.168.0.4. But when I try to enter
the IP address to connect to the computer, I still get
"unable to connect to host: Connection refused
(10061)"
Now if I go into the viewer and type in the internal
ip of 192.168.0.4 it loads fine, but Im trying to get
the viewer to show the external so I can connect to it
from my PC at home.
Please help!
Thanks,
Ed
