It seems that "my" vncconfig does not know about "-poll":
$ vncconfig -poll
usage: vncconfig [-display <display>] [-nowin] [-iconic]
vncconfig [-display <display>] -connect <host>[:<port>]
vncconfig [-display <display>] -disconnect
vncconfig [-display <display>] <param>=<value> ...
vncconfig [-display <display>] -list
vncconfig [-display <display>] -get <param>
vncconfig [-display <display>] -desc <param>
