Xvnc with RENDER - almost working

I can't say I really understand this, but just a shot in the dark, what of taking the absolute value of any negatives? that way in the example below, the -47 would then become 47. is this even worth a try?

Yes, I see messages like that too (now that I look).

Well, that removes the 'striping' effect, but instead just large
regions don't get repainted now. :-/
