Joseph,

Given that you had to install GCC in order to get the runtime library, and
that the problem appears to be that none of the parameters or loggers are
being initialised, I'd say this looks like a library compatibility issue.
We should be linking the binaries statically to the GCC libraries (to avoid
dependencies), but it looks like that's not happening.

We'll look into this before the 4.1.1 bugfix release - would you be willing
to try out a replacement viewer binary when one becomes available?
