vnc viewer sends a tilde to vnc server when connect.

Hello folks,

I'm doing some tests with vnc, and i'm having a problem.

i'm connecting from a debian unstable with xvnc4viewer 4.0-7, to an 
windows NT 4.0 SP6 with real vnc 4.0 server installed.

At the first time i connect do windowsNT, the vncviewer sends a tilde 
before the first char typed. This is strange because it happends only when 
the windows NT is in the login screen. If i logon, and disconnect, when i 
reconnect the char is not sent.

anyone knows what it is?
