Closing VNC on display 0 logs off session

I am running Realvnc 4.0.1 on two Suse Linux 9.1 servers. I have it
set up to take over display 0. I access these Linux servers from an XP
machine running Realvnc 4.0. On the one server when I exit from VNC,
it logs off the KDE session. The other server is does not (the session
keeps running). This can be a real problem when running a long
interactive program and you want to just check on the progress every
so often. Does anybody have any ideas?  Thanks....
