For this to work you need vnc server and client installed on both machines.
On the teacher's machine -vncserver properties:
uncheck Accept Pointer Events from Clients
uncheck Accept Keyboard Events from Clients
Select Always treat new connections as shared
Create a Batch file with the following call it "connect all students"
winvnc4.exe -connect IP1
winvnc4.exe -connect IP2
winvnc4.exe -connect IP3
Create a batch file consisiting of this call it "connect A student"
(you will have to show the teacher how to associate seats with IP's)
Run the firs batch file to connect all students, the second to just
show something to one.
On the student's machine set up a listening viewer to run on startup.
On the students machine set up the server as a service (google the
mailing list for how to disable the tray menu, the icon will still be
ther but im pretty shure you can lockout changes.)
That should be a start....
Additionally VNC enterprise may have even better features to support
this. Also there are other vnc based-solutions that may be just what
you need at a small fee.
If you have funding you can also check out net-op school which is a
remote control package (not vnc) that is especially designed for
Then show the teacher how to disconnect all of them by clciking in the
tray and choosing disconnect all clients.
