Occasional VNC Crash

I'm upgrading to version 4 now. I was just curious to see if this
problem has occurred in the past and if so, has it been fixed in version
4?
I've been observing this behavior for 2 years and have yet to identify
the circumstances around which the error occurs. It always occurs at
the point when I connect to the server. The error only occurs on the
server. And it happens randomly. The problem has become less frequent
over the years and I don't know if it is due to bug fixes in RealVNC or
bug fixes in newer versions of Microsoft Windows.
