Ok here's the scoop. I was using a video card driver from 3.3, using
XFdrake. Since my s3 card will not work with the s3 drivers i was using
the svga driver. Now even though i only had 4.3 installed, using this
option forced me into 3.3 mode. I finally found that i could use the
vesa driver and after setting up the s3 4.3 driver, i hand edited the
config to use the veas driver. I've discovered that i have no web
access using the native session 0 support. However using the vnc client
works so i'm finally have a way to manage the server without having to
go down into the cold basement...... Thanks for all your help, it did
get me thinking some more......
