Getting VNC working with my current screen (:0)

I would like to get realVNC 4.0 working with my
desktop screen (which is :0 as opposed to :1 which it
starts off at). It is a pain to connect to :1 with the
old X windowing software and then having to type
'startkde' while still having X sitting on top of it.
Is there anyway to do this? Thanks.
