I just discovered this really neat application recently.  Allows me to do the 
following...its crude, but it works swimmingly!!   Especially if you only want 
to monitor windows sound events from the remote end...it should work nicely 
for low-bandwidth radio:


                                       VNC for video
           WinXP MCE TV downstairs -------------------->   Any PC upstairs
                                     Tonecast for audio


Checkout http://www.vypress.com for Tonecast.  Not free of course, but sweet.
