Help!

Hi all!
I'm still trying to use vncserver on a linux red hat 9 machine, accessed 
by a winXP machine with the vncviewer.
When I try to access it, i am returned the error "no password configured 
for VNC auth 
<http://www.realvnc.com/pipermail/vnc-list/2004-December/048579.html>"
the fact is that I've already set the password on linux, by using the 
vncpasswd command. So why do I still recive this error?
