vncserver Fedora Problems

Always used vncserver on windows boxes to remotly administer them with 
liunux clients.
Now I have put some linux boxes out there and need to vnc to them 
(Basically to help the users of the box)
I need to be able to see the desktop as they see it, but all I can seem 
to get is
a localized desktop (twm session)  which is useless for what i need. is 
there a way for me to startup vncserver via telnet or ssh (preferred)
and see the users desktop as they see it (i.e when i wiggle the mouse 
they see that, not a copy of their desktop).
Any help is appreciated as i have tried everything I can think of and 
nothing seems to work.
