not able to connect to host

I'm using vnc 4.0 in windows 2000 professional edition.. the problem is whenever i try to view other machines tat works fine . but people from the other side are not able to view my machine(in india) it says unable to connect to the host. I'm not sure whether unknown firewall is blocking this... when i check for external ip scan, by hitting www.gotomyvnc.com it shows an ip address starting with 52...etc.. (this's different from wat it shows when vnc taskbar shows, after the scan or the so called check up it reports as the ip address is not responing in display 0, 1.. etc till 9,. this means wat? some firewall is blocking the connections.. if it's so? wat am i supposed to do.. It would be great if i could get a solution to this problem.
