Connecting from Sweden to Tokyo gives time out error...

I am trying to connect to a computer in Tokyo, Japan from a computer 
in Sweden. I get the logon screen and i also get prompted for the
password.
But it will not connect. Seems like a time out related error.

It is possible to connect to the computer in japan from other locations
in
japan.

It is also possible to connect using remote desktop.

Is there a registry key or something that i can change to get VNC
working on
connections with a transit delay?
