result: connection closed

In the end, I drove out to the site and performed a "Disconnect Clients" 
from the system tray icon although it did not change to the black icon. That 
resolved the issue.  The event viewer consisted of the following application 
logs:

Connections: closed: 172.16.1.112::1505 (unable to switch into input 
desktop)
