how do I reset connection attempt failures?

hi:

I am attempting to connect to vncserver using a
vncviewer running on my windows m/c and I have run out
of allowed successful attempts.

How can I reset the count? The viewer is repeatedly
giving me "VNC authentication failed - too many
tries!" error, even though the password I give is
correct.

any help appreciated.
