Question regarding port numbers.

Hi Steve!

I'm sure it depends on which router you have, but the way I accomplish this
with our Linksys router is on the Applications and Gaming tab, under UPnP
Forwarding.

I leave the host PC's set up to receive connections at 5900. From the
outside, I can access host pc#1 via port 5901, host pc#2 via port 5902, etc.
The linksys router forwards the request on port 5901 to pc#1's IP on port
5900. Requests coming in on port 5902 are forwarded to port 5900 on pc#2's
IP, etc.

You could assign different port #'s for each pc but it doesn't help you
solve anything if your router is also being used as a firewall. Doing as I
have done is easy to configure and manage, providing that the ip's of your
host pc's on your network are retained for a reasonable period of time.

I don't know the answer to your question about multiple views of the same
host, sorry.

Hope that helps . . .
