Question: Removing VNC From Startup

Two ways:
First, uninstall the service. Or second you can go to Control Panel ->Admin
Tools, open up "Services" and tell the service NOT to auto-start, on the
off-chance you want to have it run as a service (i.e. you're going to be
accessing it from remote and may need to change users, etc.) on a
case-by-case basis. That way you can go to "services" any time you want, and
start the VNC server service.

Those are the only two choices *I* know of... maybe someone else knows
better. Keep in mind that if this is in an "office"/production environment
(non-home) and VNC is something your admin installed, you may want to check
with your sysadmin before you do this...it might be installed as a service
for a reason. :-)

Subject: Question: Removing VNC From Startup

I was wondering if anyone knew how to prevent VNC from
automatically starting up when I start up my computer
(I'm using WinXP).

I don't frequently use VNC and I would rather not have
it running when I don't use it. While I could, of
course, stop it once its up, I was hoping that there
was some way to stop it from coming up until I want it
to come up.

Thanks
