New to VNC - Works with Java, not with Viewer

Try disabling / allowing VNC in the XP firewall.

I feel like I'm missing something... Connecting from xp home (viewer) to
suse linux (server).  I can successfully connect using java enabled browser
(IE) using http://linuxcomp:5801.  I installed VNC viewer Free Edition on
the xp box and put in linuxcomp:1 but nothing happened.  Did not ask for
password, no window came up.  Although I am inclined to think that there was
a successfully connection of some sort seeing as when I shut down the linux,
I got a "do you want to reconnect" popup.  Any advice? Much appreciated.
