problem with vnc on windows NT

this problem is very strange to me. i go through a router, and i have
the right ports being forwarded, when i use vnc viewer to connect, i
never get the password prompt, and 3minutes later i get disconnected.

Within the windows nt machine i tried to connect, i can see that i
have a connection estasblished, if i do a 'netstat'

using the broswer and port 5800, i download all the java files, but i
get connection refused.

has anyone ever experieance a similar problem?
